Mr. Anderson made a presentation to over 80 students at the famous Academia Sanchez-Casal in Barcelona. The presentation covered college tennis and how to qualify for a scholarship. Mr. Anderson also met with student's parents to explain the great opportunities that US universities offers to interenational student-athletes. USP V College Tennis Tournament in Miami (December)

USP will run its V College Tennis Event. In the last 4 years USP has offered coaches and players the opportunity to network in Miami. The past College Tennis Workouts have gather hundreds coaches from all over the USA who come to evaluate National and International players for their teams. ITA / USP Tennis Academy opens in the Caribbean

ITA and USP (University Sports Program) have joined to offer the first international tennis academy in the Caribbean. Located in the beautiful island of Trinidad & Tobago, the academy offers the same high quality training and coaching program as in ITA Delray Beach, Florida. The program is directed by ITA trained coaches with many years of experience working with top junior and professional players. USP Student-Athletes ready to enter college Fall 2003

Over 38 athletes have been admitted to college starting Fall 2003. Some of the colleges are University of Alabama, Iowa, Illinois Central, East Central, Flagler College, South Georgia, Oklahoma Christian, Mercer, Wofford, Brenau, Georgia Southern, Tusculum, Graceland, Darton, Cochise, Ellsworth, Evansville, Missouri, among others.


14 players selected at the II USP Soccer Try Out in Santa Cruz,Bolivia

For the second year in a row, USP visited Bolivia to watch their best National junior soccer players. Coaches from Mercer University and Georgia State watched over 70 players during two days of games. A total of 14 players were selected to have the potential to play at the NCAA I division. A visit to the famous Tahuichi Academy gave USP and its coaches a great impression of their work and level of play. Consultores Educacionales a highly respected placement agency in Bolivia organized the event. Already plans are under way for the 2004 edition.


Centro Mexicano de Tenis selected as official USP testing center.

Edgar Gieffering a former top player, USTA coach and assistant coach at University of Texas has agreed to use his facility in Morelos, Mexico to evaluate the top Mexican players who are interested in playing college tennis in the EEUU. A Pre-College preparation program will be offered at the academy to make sure players comply with all college admssions (SAT, TOEFL, etc.).

For the 5th time, Thomas Anderson was a guest speaker at one of the most important tennis events for teaching professionals. The PTR symposium takes place in Hilton Head, Island, SC. Thomas Anderson presentation covered the topic “Keep Your Players Motivated: College Tennis”.

Sanchez-Casal to become USP Tester for Spain.

Emilio Sanchez and Thomas Anderson have reached an agreement to use the Sanchez-Casal as a testing center for players who are interested in playing college tennis and becoming a USP client. Worldwide known for their success in the professional circuit, Emilio and Sergio run a first class training center in the “Tennis Capital” of Europe: Barcelona.
